June Iheanyichukwu Wenah was a man of great accomplishment he was very good in sport. He was a one time colts team football captain in Stella Maris college, portharcourt that won the late Bishop Okoye's cup competition among all Catholic secondary schools in portharcourt province and represented the school sports team in High jump and long distance race as that was the early state of his physical development in sportive activities. He worked very hard from his youth. He never liked a dull moment. He championed and defended rightly the interest of his kinsmen and friends alike which earned him admiration for all. He was a knowledgeable man, fond of and loved by youths who fondly call him Dede. He was jovial, sympathetic and extremely exhibited kindness which earned him respect and love. He did not like having enemies or harboring malice. He loved to a fault, he was a man of truth, care and respect both young and old. June's achievements were numerous. He touched so many lives in different ways, putting the interests of other people above his. In his bid to impact on the lives of members of his community, he joined and worked with members of his Age grade (Iku Chigoziri), Orosi family, Ogbodo youth movement (OYPM), etc.
We the children, enjoyed a special kind of relationship with him. He made us understand that the key to true happiness in life was in hard work, encouraging us to excel both academically and in our daily interaction with people, young and old. His passion was service and respect to constituted authority even when it proved inconvenient. This is one quality that all those who came in contact with him, while alive can attest to. He was a Christian, who worshipped the Almighty God. In the church, he served as the Secretary of the Baptist Church Ogbodo Isiokpo. He exhibited love to all mankind irrespective of creed.
In his bid of struggling for a greener pasture for his family, he left for United States of America on the 9th of September, 2011 but unfortunate health could not let him actualise his dream. He felt I'll and was operated upon and sadly on the 17th August, 2012 he passed on at UPTH.
Daddy may your gentle and loving soul rest in the Bossom of the Lord till we meet to part no more.
